Vulnerability Management
Turn vulnerability lists into a workable fix plan.
Vulnerability management is a recurring cycle of discovering exposure, deciding what matters and checking that fixes work. CyberXpert helps teams move beyond large scan exports towards an owned, risk-led remediation programme.
Plan vulnerability managementWHO THIS HELPS
For organisations with changing infrastructure, recurring customer assurance requests or more findings than their IT team can reasonably address at once.
THE PROBLEM TO SOLVE
Severity alone does not tell you what to fix first. Internet exposure, exploitation evidence, business impact and compensating controls all affect the priority of a finding.
Receive an asset and coverage record, prioritised findings, an actionable remediation backlog and trend reporting. Exceptions should show an owner, rationale and review date.
A DEFINED ENGAGEMENT
01
Agreed asset scope, scan methods, credentials and safe operating windows.
02
Recurring scanning and review of relevant technical findings.
03
Prioritisation using exposure, business context and available threat information.
04
Remediation ownership, exception tracking and validation of completed work.
We establish a baseline, validate the coverage, agree a remediation workflow with your IT team and repeat the assessment at an appropriate cadence. New or changed assets enter the same process.
Retesting and recurring reviews show whether exposure is falling. Findings that require deeper validation may lead to a separately authorised penetration test.
Asset numbers, internal and external coverage, authenticated scanning, environment complexity and remediation involvement affect scope. Scanning licences and hands-on fixes are identified in the proposal.
Your proposal sets out the deliverables, assumptions, exclusions and responsibilities before work begins. No fixed price or contractual inclusion is implied by this page.
Is a scan the same as penetration testing?
No. Scanning identifies potential weaknesses at scale. Penetration testing applies focused investigation to validate exploitable paths within a defined scope.
Will every high-severity result be treated equally?
No. We consider whether the issue is relevant, exposed and meaningful to the business before agreeing priority and ownership.
Who fixes the vulnerabilities that are found?
We agree remediation ownership with your team or IT provider. The programme can prioritise actions and track progress; hands-on changes require an explicit scope, suitable access and change approval. Not every finding can be fixed by the scanning service itself.
How is remediation checked?
Follow-up scanning or targeted validation can check whether a finding remains detectable. The method depends on the issue and available access. An exception or compensating control should be recorded with an owner and review point rather than silently removed from the backlog.
Can the programme start with a limited asset group?
Yes. A defined pilot can establish asset coverage, scanning access and a workable remediation process. The scope should identify the included assets and exclusions before expanding, especially where external, cloud and internal inventories overlap.
LET’S DEFINE THE RIGHT SCOPE
Tell us which assets need recurring review and who owns patching and remediation. We can define scan coverage, prioritisation and a workable process for validating fixes.
