What is the difference between Essentials and Plus?
Cyber Essentials uses a verified self-assessment approach. Plus adds hands-on technical verification of the controls. Consult the current IASME scheme guidance for requirements and process.
Can CyberXpert issue the certificate?
This website offers readiness and remediation support. It does not claim that CyberXpert is an IASME certification body or authorised assessor.
What should we prepare before starting readiness work?
An asset and software inventory, information about remote workers and relevant cloud services help define the certification scope. Your team should also identify who can approve and implement changes needed to address gaps.
Can you work with our IT provider on remediation?
Yes. Readiness work can translate scheme requirements into an owned remediation plan for your IT provider. Evidence and configuration changes should be checked against the agreed scope before an application or independent technical assessment.
What deliverables should readiness support provide?
Expect a clear scope, gap record and prioritised remediation or preparation checklist. The proposal should distinguish consultancy, implementation and independent assessment costs. Readiness support helps preparation; the certification decision remains with the authorised certification body.
